KUALA LUMPUR 10th JAN 2018: PolicyStreet, today announced a partnership with Teach For Malaysia (TFM) Foundation, an independent, not-for-profit organisation on a mission to empower our nation through education. Since its establishment, TFM Foundation has recruited, trained and supported more than 350 Fellows and Alumni to drive systemic impact in education, with the goal of one day ending education inequity in Malaysia.
This synergetic partnership, meticulously curated by PolicyStreet for TFM Foundation, is set to provide the most affordable life protection and best-in-value lifestyle protection to the Foundation’s Fellows, staffs and communities.
“Education is the backbone of the economy and talent development in Malaysia, and those who are well-educated are going to be the growth engine of this country. However, many children in our communities are still deprived of an excellent education due to various socio-economic barriers,” according to Aida Azmi, Director of Strategy and Operations at Teach For Malaysia.
We want to help level education inequity in Malaysia and empower more youths (Fellows) to take initiative in growing the generations to come, while at the same time ensure they receive decent financial protection throughout this journey,” Aida continues.
“This year, together with PolicyStreet, TFM Foundation will be launching the Fellow Protection Plan. Starting from less than RM10/month, TFM Foundation Fellows and staff will be entitled to life protection coverage up to a RM100,000 annual limit.”
PolicyStreet’s Co-Founder & COO, Wilson Beh, concurs.
“We support Bank Negara Malaysia’s call to increase the national life insurance penetration rate to 75% by 2020 from the current 56%. By collaborating with TFM Foundation, we promote a highly affordable Life Insurance Protection to TFM Foundation with the intention to create a strong awareness on protection. We will also introduce more best-in-value lifestyle protection for TFM Foundation and its communities which spread out across rural and semi-urban Malaysia.
PolicyStreet will also conduct inclusive insurance sharing sessions with TFM Fellows who will be then sent to schools located at sub-urban and rural Malaysia. By equipping the Fellows with the relevant knowledge of financial inclusion, PolicyStreet believes more students will be benefitted by getting to learn the importance of insurance protection.
